Listopia > Fiction: Bioterrorism/Biological Warfare
Bioterrorism is terrorism involving the intentional release or dissemination of biological agents. These agents are bacteria, viruses, or toxins, and may be in a naturally occurring or a human-modified form. (Wiki)
Please only add books that feature viruses/bacteria/etc used as weapons, as part a terrorist or warfare plot.
DON'T add books that feature non-warfare/terrorism outbreaks or epidemics. An outbreak of Ebola, SARS, Flu, H1N1, etc wouldn't apply unless said outbreak was started (or weaponized) or spread with a purpose to cause terror and deaths. Outbreaks that occur due to accidental exposure (ie a doctor contracting Ebola while treating a patient) also don't count - this list is for deliberate actions, to cause terror, death or harm**
(**exception is a bioterrorism agent, such as Anthrax, that was created/worked on, but was accidentally released leading to infection, because the purpose for its creation was bioterrorism, even if it wasn't meant to be released at that particular time. OR a weaponized bacteria/virus that was accidentally released from a lab, as the fact that it was weaponized points towards bioterrorism usage).
Commonly used agents in bioterrorism: Anthrax, Smallpox, Botulinum, Plague, etc. Weaponized versions of the flu, Ebola, and other known viruses apply provided they are weaponized varieties.
