John Thornton The Story About Ping by Marjorie Flack, Kurt Wiese (Illustrator)
I believe that book was read by Captain Kangaroo as well.

Mary Garback I recall seeing and hearing "The Stubborn Sillies" (researching, I learned this was based on an Old or Middle English poem, "Get Up and Bar the Door") and "Please All, Please None" (not sure if title is exact, this was a fable type, probably European in origin) read.

Reader Many times Captain Kangaroo read “The Strawberry Pony.” The author and the pony were our neighbors long ago in Maine. I just can’t find it on Google, but I can’t let it go unmentioned either. It was one of his favorites and ours too. Does anyone remember it? Please comment. TX.
