Does Pat Schmatz identify as trans and/or genderqueer? I was looking this book up today and couldn't find any confirmation either way.

But to be honest I can't find any evidence other than that lone tweet that Pat identifies as trans, so I've removed my vote for that one.
Does Leah Raeder identify as trans? I also couldn't tell from the descriptions whether her books on this list had trans characters.

Not sure about the others, but I believe Leah Raeder's forthcoming "Bad Boy" will have an FTM main character.
YA authors James Dawson and Zac Brewer (formerly Heather Brewer) also recently came out as trans. Not sure if any of their work has transgender characters, though.
Been cheeky and added my own books. They are all real-world stories (apart from one short SF/Horror and a single horror), fiction, and the central characters are trans.
I'm a trans author and most of my books feature trans characters, but as no one has even heard of them, and I can't add my own books, I fear they'll never appear on this list :(If anyone out there is kind enough to just add one book of mine - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... - to this list I'd be deeply grateful :)

I feel your need---me too!
Not entirely sure how they identify re: transness, but we're buying a few books from Arcadia Missa by authors who use 'they' pronouns or ID as genderqueer (sufficient for inclusion at GCLL, if not on this list): 'Metabolize, If Able' (Clay AD), 'Virus' (Linda Stupart) and 'On Hell' (Johanna Hedva).
I want to add two of my favorite authors:By Gabe Cole Novoa:
- The Wicked Bargain (enby transmasc)
- The Diablo's Curse (genderfluid)
- Most Ardently (transmasc)
By Andrew Joseph White:
- Hell Followed With Us (transmasc)
- The Spirit Bares its Teeth (transmasc)
- Compound Fracture (transmasc)
By F. T. Lukens (not sure how they identify specifically, but they use they/them pronouns)
- Spell Bound (enby)
- Otherwordly (enby)
