This list is geared towards fans of historical fiction.
Have you ever been reading this type of book when suddenly the Tudor era characters start talking in a strange way; spouting politically correct jargon about 500 years too soon?
Or a 13th century feminist who espoused equal rights and was able to get away with bossing all the men around because she was well...superior and all that. Yeah, right, I'm real sure that happened 700 years ago.
Enough I say! I don't want to hear Medieval historical fiction characters speaking like an American either with noble liberal/humanist jargon coming at you left and right.
If you've ever encountered a book of this type please do your good deed for the day by warning others so feel free to add any and all books that you can recall.
Thanks for your help. I'm so tired of throwing away money on books that somehow got Lost in Time.

Good idea for a list—though I can't think of any specific books right away. I find it's modern films/TV adaptions that are most guilty of this 'crime'. Very often the characters have modern or anachronistic hairstyles, clothing etc. as well - ugh!

It's outrageous Jonathan and it's gotten to the point that I no longer bother to watch new movies based on true Medieval history. Some of them are downright bizarre. I only watch older films/TV series where such nonsense isn't so blatant. And enough of bashing the Catholic Church where every churchman is a psychopathic monster.
Thanks for your input Jonathan.
I totally agree Laurie I have great memories of priests I have known and nuns who taught me, it is just trendy to write these stories. I am waiting also for the first time Henry VIII has a mobile phone, the day will come.
Ha! Mobile phones indeed ARRGHH!I'm waiting for the day Henry VIII installs nanny cams in Anne Boleyn's chambers and catches her cheating on him.
I was watching a TV series last week (I think it was Vikings as I recall but I'm not positive) where one of the Viking men in 800's A.D. describes another person as "a piece of work" to my horror.Excellent series otherwise.
Someone added Outlander on this list.Which shows you that someone either missed the point of the list or the point of the book, which is about a woman in the 40s, going back in time (and later on we find out that she is not the only one who does that) so...
