Foundling (Monster Blood Tattoo, #1)
by
"a YA book - VERY creative world-building; reminds you of steampunk except that it's all bio-technology instead of machines; wonderful characters; creative use of language; not like any other fantasy series; illustyrations and especially the (zoomable) online map are a real plus!"

Ex-Heroes (Ex-Heroes, #1)
by
"superheroes AND zombies in Hollywood - how can it miss? the writing is about 85% polished, but the action & plot twists & characterizations are very good - the humor in this book adds a whimsical touch, such as how they keep a tally of points for killing the zombies of former celebrities ("Are you sure it's him? His face is half gone?") - great plot twists too"
