Dr. Nightingale Rides to the Hounds (Dr. Nightingale Mystery, Book 7)
by
"I think the is the worst mystery novel I ever read. I can't believe I finished it. It felt like chapters were left out since there was no hints or lead up to discovering "who done it." "

City Boy: My Life in New York in the 1960s and 70s
by
"There should have been a human hook but there wasn't. I simply could not slog through several hundred pages of picking up tricks, shallow party descriptions and name dropping. I finally gave up at page 158 so if it got better after than I didn't notice"

Beyond Black Bear Lake
by
"I was hoping to find a book by somone who had integrated herself with nature. Unfortunately with her dogs and guns, she seemed to spend all her time fighting her edge-of-wilderness surroundings."

The King of Torts
by
"After reading a few chapters I found I just could not care about any of the characters. I was mildly interested in the story about a drug that that had a side effect of murder so I skipped to the last couple chapters to find out how it ended. Nothing grabbed me there either.

Maybe the middle part of the book is good, but I rather doubt it." See Review |

Death Wears a Red Hat (Father Koesler, #2)
by
"For an author that normally interveaves morality inot murder mysteries this book disappoints. Murder is OK if it is done in the name of consumer protection????"

The Broken Shore (Broken Shore #1)

" only got to page 71 of this book so it may not be fair to give stars. Perhaps it gets better later, but I found I just could not go on since I didn't care about the characters."

A Presumption of Death
by
"I really enjoyed some of Dorothy Sayer's Peter Whimsey books, but this one was a big disappointment. The characters didn't seem like real or interesting people and at least up to page 234 (when I gave up) the mystery took a back seat to passages about how much Harriet missed Peter who was off on some mysterious mission for England."
