Suzanne Young actually wrote The Naughty List (published by Penguin) so A Want So Wicked won't be her 2nd novel :) But I enjoy your enthusiasm and offer for help! (I will let you know if I think of anything!)

The Jessica Darling books actually were not published as YA, even though they are often shelved/read that way... so Bumped was her YA debut and Thumped is her sophomore!

Hi Shanyn,Thanks for making the list!!!
I put First Comes Love on my Sophomore Challenge list. She also has Middle Ground coming out, but I think First Comes Love releases first, in May.
If that doesn't qualify, let me know :)
Jen
How about The White Glove War by Katie Crouch? The Magnolia League was her 1st YA. She's written lots of adult fiction. Same with Gregg Olsen. Envy was his 1st YA. The sequel, Betrayal comes out sometime in 2012.
Thank you Jen and Karis! I have added First Comes Love (you're right, that one fits!) and The White Glove War! I'm going to research and add Betrayal right now, too.
I was wondering about about Moira Young's followup to Blood Red Road. Goodreads has it listed as Rebel Heart (Dust Lands #2,) to be released the second half of 2012?
Heather wrote: "I was wondering about about Moira Young's followup to Blood Red Road. Goodreads has it listed as Rebel Heart (Dust Lands #2,) to be released the second half of 2012?"That one fits the bill! Great find Heather! I'm betting a lot are looking forward to that one.
Also wondering about Megan Crewe's new book The Way We Fall. I can only find one other pub bed book by her, Giving Up the Ghost. I'll put it on my list and see what you think. The Way We Fall
I have Kirsten Hubbard's "Wanderlove" on my YA Contemp. Challenge reading list. Goodreads says it's her second novel following last year's "Like Mandarin." Can we add it to the Sophomore Challenge list?
Yes! Both qualify! I'm actually surprised I didn't add Wanderlove already, tsk to me. There is an official challenge group for this now on GR where I will be able to moderate the list of books so I will be transferring there slowly over the next week to remove some confusion when people add books that don't work for the challenge!
Unfortunately no :( They have to be published in 2012. Would have worked if this challenge ran last year!
Diana, I thought that The Selection was a debut. It's on the Story Siren Debut list. Was the first book YA??
???? Don't know. I'll let Shanyn decide. But it's definitely on the YA Debut 2012 list.Doesn't matter to me, I'm reading it either way :)
It is. I have the ARC and it's SO pretty. Wait. Let me see if the ARC says debut. Hang on.Yep. Back of ARC says "debut author." So ????
Well, I think The Siren was published through an online something or other (says iUniverse.com), so I'm guessing that makes it not quite count as a published work? I did notice the back of the ARC said debut so we will go with that - count it for the Debut challenge and not the Sophomore (though the next in that series will count)! :)
Hi,The Story Siren said she was considering Amanda Hocking's "Switched" as a debut, because it was her first book with a traditional publishing house. Would Amanda's "Torn", the second in the trilogy that is also coming out this year, be considered a Sophomore book?
I've been basing the Sophomores off of Kristi's Debut Author list - so if she is counting Switched as a debut, Torn will count as a Sophomore!
Hi! I just want to clarify if Angel Fire by L.A. WEATHERLY is considered as a sophomore? Because Uk ed released it last year but for the US edition is for this year?
It counts for the year where you live - so if you live in the US and the second book from the author is publishing in the US this year, it counts for you! :)
