LOL. I love the sidebar that says who voted for what. At least at my screen resolution, it truncates the titles so that Rob voted for "I am Leg", and Gertie voted for "Swan Son", Deirdre voted for the intriguing "On the B", and I voted for "Lucifers'…"
Its not fair....I really didn't want to pick just one...I haven't read them all...some I can say I most likely won't...And there are different kinds of end of the world....how can you compare Feed to The earth abides??
Don't forget the links please, especially if the book isn't already linked to on the page.Drew, which Lights Out do you mean?

I don't feel committed to my vote honestly - I LOVED it when I read it the first time, and quite enjoyed it the second time, but don't know if it counts as my current favorite. But since nothing else popped into my mind as being special, I went with my old fave. I've just read so damn many.
I think the first Day by Day Armageddon is probably my favorite, although Autumn is a close second :) And I do love that Feed made your short list!
I chose "The Road" because I felt it was the best on the list; however, I have to say the The Remaining series by D.J. Molles has a special place in my heart for turning me on to Zombie literature. "Feed" is on the top of my favorites list because of its unique spin on Zombie literature: zombies as a setting rather than a plot.
So many good choices! I wouldn't want to choose between so different books as The Day of the Triffids and The Road, both very good in their own way. Also, I love Oryx and Crake (haven't read book 3 yet)... I'll leave it a t that, without casting my vote. From the books I've read from that list the one I liked the least would be World War Z. That was rubbish imho.

LOVE that series!
I am Legend is so, so incredible. It's also even better the second time, after the realization the reader has from the first read-through.

The Girl with All the Gifts wasn't on the list, and it's my new favorite because it took an overused plot and made it new again. My original favorite is The Chrysalids.
Susan did you ever see the movie? I rented it earlier this year, and I actually didn't even finish it, it was surprisingly boring. The book was much better .

Considering I Am Legend was a blockbuster of a movie, I'm going to say that it must've been the producers who made The Girl With All the Gifts boring.
I've enjoyed reading all the blog posts about the race-bending in the movie. Making Ms Justineau white and Melanie black has been met with both criticism and applause. I think both sides of the argument have valid points, but I personally like the idea that (view spoiler)
I vote for The Cell by King or Pandemic (Infected #3)by Scott Sigler.

And... she left the group. I didn't realize asking someone politely to follow the main group rule was such a sensitive topic. :-P
In terms of readability, Hunger games was definitely the best.On October 26, 2017, it was announced that Tom Hanks would star in the post-apocalyptic film, BIOS, about a robot who is built by Hanks' ailing character to protect the life of his beloved dog when he dies
Also looking for sci fi adaptions
I don't think I could choose just one, but I know that even though I really enjoyed a number of these, if I had a favourite it would be something else. If only I could remember all the books I have read by title, author and plot! I have even forgotten books I liked--I know that because a few times I have picked up a book to read for the first time only to realize I read it when I was a teen or in my twenties, etc.
