Goodreads asked D.G. Allen:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

D.G. Allen Nothing... It's horrible. It's like a disease, you have to do it. Something inside of you demands that you write these thoughts and situations that are driving you absolutely crazy. Then you show people - who tell you the stuff you wrote is crap, and you go back and do it again, knowing you're about to be rejected for the hundredth time. If there is a saving grace about being a writer, it's the ability to convey a thought, and do it with credibility. Of course, I might be exagerating a bit, but it's an art form like any other, and the best art comes from pain, writing is painful, lol.
