How do you get inspired to write?

Christopher Mark Stokes the inspiration for my latest novel, 'THE HISTORY OF ME' was my family. the book was inspired by the kindling relationship of my grandparents; a coal-man and a seamstress. i was also inspired to write it, because i wanted to write about my experiences of having a loved one with a brain tumour. i wanted to write about what i have witnessed. writing the book was partially my way of dealing with the fact that my uncle has an incurable illness, that me and my family are continually witnessing him battle with.
