What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

A.L. Noble When our children were little, we had over one hundred pacifiers go missing inside our home. The kids would go to sleep with their binkies and wake up sans binkies. No matter how hard we looked, they were never recovered. It became a running joke in our home that we either had pacifier stealing trolls living in the walls or a ghost with a fetish for binkies. I've often wanted to weave a tale about one of those options. Perhaps, a short story is in the near future.
