It all started from a map - a friend and I created a map of a mountain region, and I used it to create a world that ended up so huge it covered one bedroom of my house: The Nine Duchies. It was the world of The Tome of Law, an epic fantasy series that I wrote a couple of books for a decade back. That series never ended. I quit half way through book 3.
