I just finished Himself and loved it, and in particular I loved the wholly unique way you write about ghosts. What were your first literary and/or cinematic encounters with ghosts?

Hi Mike, thanks for getting in touch. I think I first met ghosts as a very young child through the stories my family told each other. These often featured very real, heckling sorts of ghosts, like the kind I write. But I loved ghost tales, although I rarely found them very scary. I remember particularly loving Ghostbusters, just for the complete fun of it. All best, Jess
