What was the hardest scene to write?

Paula Hawkins Into the Water has a number of quite harrowing scenes: Libby Seeton’s ordeal by water, for example, of the scene in which Louise, a grieving mother, has to face clearing out her daughter’s bedroom. There are a couple of very painful scenes involving Jules, too – one at the water’s edge, and another in the house.
