The way I was taught about spiritual work. In most of the spiritual books that I read, the apprentice went to find his or her teacher in remote areas, usually outside the United States. With me, my teachers came to my door - at my workplace. This included a man from India and a Native American man and his female partner. Even my most recent teacher, Lynn V. Andrews, I became her apprentice without having to leave home.
