Oooh, this is such a great question. I feel like my life is full of mysteries - but I still have to protect the innocent so I can't divulge them. Still, I guess I'd go with a little family saga - a young impressionable girl arrives in Australia from London in the 1920s, meets a wealthy young man when she's employed at his family home, falls pregnant and gives the baby up for adoption... If I were to use that true history as the basis for a novel, I'd start with the descendants of the woman's 'legitimate' and 'illegitimate' offspring being called to a will reading ...
