Would I be correct in guessing you prefer to write short stories to lengthy novels. If so, why?

No, incorrect, I love writing both and always have both on the go at the same time, though I have not published a novel for over two years. The novel I am working on at the moment will be different from my previous books, as the main character is an unusual private detective who works from a camper van and each case could be a short story in itself.
