Goodreads asked M.E. Royce:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

M.E. Royce It would be selfish to say that I enjoy torturing the character's emotions when it comes down to it, but I do... Being a writer puts a characters life into play with the slightest touch of a keyboard. You have the power to create life and change the course of history if you deem fit. Dynasties can be documented, audiences can be moved to tears, and at the end of the day, it is the accomplishment of saying "I did it" that is the most rewarding of them all.

When a novel is begun, it seems as if it will never be finished, but each word is one step closer and it is the prospect of the finished product that drives me to continue no matter how tired of a certain character I am... That or you can just end them then and there. That is always a welcome option...
