Goodreads asked David C. Perry:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

David C. Perry Thanks for asking. I have only been writing for about four years and so far it has not been a problem. I am writing two genres. My first books chronicle the history of the US Navy and Marine Corps during the American Revolution. They very closely follow history. So I do the research, lay it out chronologically, and look for patterns in the characters and event that make a cohesive story. Then I use that for an outline and just start writing.
Now I have begun writing a "Post Apocalypse" or "Political Thriller" novel. Since it is my first I just have ideas popping up all the time. The big problem now is staying with the plot and filing away the pop-up ideas for sequels.
