Goodreads asked Lene Andersen:

How do you get inspired to write?

Lene Andersen Mordecai Richler once said that if you wait for the Muse, you'll never write a single bloody thing. Once you have an idea, it's about showing up. Or as Dorothy Parker said "writing is the art of applying ass to seat." When you show up every day, usually at the same time in the same place, with the intention to write, writing happens. It may not always be very good, but sometimes you have to write something bad in order to write something good.
