Hi Maria! My friend and I love Poison Study. How did you come up with the military style world of Ixia? When you wrote Poison Study did you know you were going to write the first two sequels and if so did you know what they were going to be about? Also would you ever consider making Poison Study into a movie? (Because that'd be an awesome movie) thanks in advance! ;)

Maria V. Snyder Hello Chay! Glad you enjoyed my book. At first, I was going to have a typical monarchy for my world and have a King and his food taster. However, I realized that that's been done to death and I wanted my world to be a bit different so I changed it to a military dictatorship. When I finished the book, tho, it reminded me of my 12 years attending Catholic school!

I also thought that Poison Study would be a stand alone novel and had no idea that I'd write 5 more books about Yelena and Valek and 3 more set in the same world with Opal. :)

I'd love for the book to be made into a movie, but Hollywood has yet to call me and I don't have the millions of dollars I'd need to do it myself! If Hollywood does call, I'm sure I'd be happy to see my story on a big screen - I'd also be very happy with a TV series, too!
