Goodreads asked Nancy Cupp:

How do you get inspired to write?

Nancy Cupp I've found the best way to find stories is not to look for them. Most of my ideas come to me when I'm busy doing something else that is unrelated to writing. Once a book is underway, the characters tend to take over. They have conversations with each other and with me throughout the day.

As for getting the inspiration to sit down and write, I keep a schedule where I do something related to writing each day. I look forward to this time, for me it's early in the morning.
