Papaphilly asked Craig Anderson:

Do you ever worry about polishing a story too much and try to fix the "Mona Lisa's Smile"?

Craig Anderson I learned this lesson the hard way. My very first novel has never been released because I edited the soul right out of it. I must have gone over it 20 times, i was so desperate to have my first book be 'perfect'. I got stuck in a loop of cutting things and then adding new things, only to cut them later. I did this for months.

I got tired of the endless editing loop, so I took a break and wrote a novella (Getting Lucky). I re-read it once, did a couple of quick revisions and then threw it up on Amazon on a whim so I could learn the process and work out the kinks for my 'main' book. Turns out nobody cared it wasn't perfect, they liked the story and asked me to write more, so that's what I did.

I don't let myself get stuck in editing limbo any more! :)
