I don't have any questions but I just wanted to say please write more your book was incredible. Seriously. I read it in like 2 days I couldn't put it down. I have recommended it to everyone. Write more? Please?

Hey Jade,
Thanks! I'm working on one now. It's taking longer than I would have hoped because the book I intended as a followup to Mount Char fizzled and died. This was about a year ago. It was supposed to be about a homicidal fry cook named Jackie who saves the world, but I just couldn't make it work. It mmmostly died for lack of an ending but, in fairness, the beginning was no great shakes either. This was about a year ago.
Since then, I've been working on one about a mathematician named Josie who lives in the woods with a bunch of dogs. I've stopped making promises, but I feel a lot better about this one.
I do appreciate the support. FWIW, I work on it at least two hours a day, every day. Better late than bad, I guess?
Best, Scott
EDIT: re: "Better late than bad" -- Well, I guess technically we can still have both. :-)

I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed Mount Char. I've been shuffling around in an existential fog for a coupla hours since finishing it...thanks for that! Curious to know the inspiration for planes of reality being rooted in emotion (i.e. plane of anguish) when most other fantastical happenings are explained rather scientifically by Carolyn?

Ooh, ooh, ooh! I just checked out shawkins.net and saw from your bio that you grew up in South Carolina. Where? I grew up in Columbia and went to Hammond Academy. I'm seven years older than you are, so it's unlikely, but not impossible, that we have some friends or acquaintances in common.

Hawkins, I as of just moments ago finished The Library at Mount Char. I am an avid fan of fantasy but can say in the hundreds of titles I have read, I have not come across a work like this. I am enchanted, and like many others, I NEED a sequel! I need to know what Carolyn's plan is and what Erwin will do in his new endeavors. Pretty-freaking-please? :)
