Hi Maria, I never expected to love the Chronicles of Ixia as much as I do, I binge read all nine books in 2 weeks! I was just wondering about Opal and Devlen, what made you decide to have them fall in love? Did you know from the very beginning of Storm Glass, or did you decide somewhere along the way?

Hi Caitlyn, I'm glad you enjoyed the books! I didn't decide for Opal and Devlen to get together - they did. :) I'd planned for Devlen to go to jail and not be a part of the story sometime during Sea Glass. Yet the man wouldn't go away and he reminded me of when I sat through a number of assemblies in high school and listened to young men and women tell their horror stories of what they did while addicted to drugs and how they overcame the addiction and are now helping others not to make the same mistakes they did. That has stayed with me all these years. And since Devlen was no longer addicted to blood magic, he was telling me he could do the same thing. It still was a tough choice when I got to Spy Glass! One of the hardest books for me to write!

Would you consider combining your Ixia Chronicles and Fifteen Realms? Having Opal, Avry, and Yelena together would be great, as would having Ari and Janco meeting Belen and the monkeys. What would be absolutely epic, though would be some type of face-off between Valek, who is immune to magic, and Kerrick, who is a part of the forest. Would the forest 'sense' Valek, or would he be invisible too?

I hope I am not asking something really personal, but I also love writing and you prove to be a great idol to me. My question is that if you write a book and on this website "Goodreads" and SOME people don't exactly like it/prefer it and comment about its flaws in a rude/un-friendly way, do you feel bad? (I love your books/plot)
