Goodreads asked Rose McClelland:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Rose McClelland I set aside a time to write - say a Saturday morning at 10am. I make myself sit down at the desk. I set a timer for about 2 hours. I tell myself that I am going to focus solely on writing for those 2 hours. Even if I'm just making notes on character or plot, I'm doing something. Quite often, I find that the 2 hours is quite productive. It's just making yourself sit down and allocate the time to write which is the biggest hurdle.
