Janet Benton Wow right back, Becky. What a delightful question. The most unexpected delight is how much pleasure it gives me simply to see my daughter. I just feel such pride and happiness when I see her face and her sweet self. There is a joy for me in the simple fact of her existence. How about for you, if you are a mother?

LOVED this book! I enjoyed everything about it - compelling story line, wonderful characters, and so interesting to learn about wet nurses and the plight of unwed mothers in the late 19th century. I also really enjoyed the framework of Lilli's perspective as a practicing Quaker. Look forward to your next work. I see that your B.A. is in religious studies, will you use a similar approach in your next work? I hope so.
