How do you get inspired to write?

R.E. Devine Having a deadline is always good! I've been a journalist for 25 years now so I'm used to having to write to a timeline. I'm not sure how I would go otherwise! As for ideas, they come from everyone and everything around me, be it snatches of overheard conversations or from books and articles I've read. Mulling things over when I'm walking the dog or hanging out the laundry often brings inspiration, just when I least expect it.
