Cass Morris The Elements are intent neutral! It's not the magic that might be good or bad, but the use that it's put to, and there are certainly lots of shades of grey. Playing with that expectation is a lot of what's fun about this system. It could be really easy to assume that, say, Shadow and Fracture are inherently negative Elements. But how great -- how necessary -- is the shade from a tree on a hot summer's day? And sometimes the act of breaking is necessary to figure something out or to fix it. Conversely, it can be easy to assume that Light is good, but as some damn fools found out during the eclipse, stare at too much of it, and you'll go blind. Any Element can be helpful or harmful, depending on how it's used and to what purpose.
