What are you currently working on?

Brin Murray I finished Heartsblood, Book Three in the Children Of The Furnace series, a while ago but editing and revision has taken some time. The end result is worth it though – this will be a truly stunning finale to the series. I’m thrilled that the logic of it is absolutely satisfying – and the way things resolve, some more and some definitely less well, is worthy of the characters’ difficult journey. Gritty, hardcore, absolutely heart-stopping finale in every way – no easy answers or saccharine happy-ever-afters for Wil, Jace or Leah here – but I won’t say more, don’t want to give too much away.
Just trust me – if you are a fan, you WILL NOT be disappointed.
Heartsblood is coming out later this year, October 2020.

Apart from that – I’ve got a few other ideas I’m playing around with, some radically different from COTF. One is a contemporary story of a young British girl who finds out her natural father is an incredibly wealthy American businessman. But I’ve stalled a bit because – can you guess? Tripping back and forth across the Atlantic might not ring too true for the next long while, with Covid-19 putting a stopper on air travel. So I’m just pondering whether to write the virus in – and if I do, how will it fit?
