Goodreads asked Golden Angel:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Golden Angel I got the idea for Benedict's Commands (which will be out later this month) just from reading other books. I love Victorian and Regency era romances, and I love the Heroes and Heroines, but I started to feel very sorry for the well-born, amorous widows and bored married matrons. Especially the widows. I'd already written one book in this series - Philip's Rules - about a virtuous widow who'd never taken a lover after her husband died, this time I wanted to write about a widow who did take lovers. And I didn't want her new husband to be her first lover since her first husband.

Basically, I wanted to challenge myself by doing something a little different, and I feel like I succeeded here. Christina is the usual discreet widow, she's had a few lovers since the death of her husband, and now Benedict, her current lover, realizes that he's actually IN love and wants to marry her. Something which she's not prepared for, as it's certainly unusual in their Society and she'd never really thought of remarrying - certainly not for love. I'm really enjoying writing a Victorian romance with a couple who already has a history, a relationship set in place and which is now changing.
