How do you get inspired to write?

Marissa Slaven I get ideas for stories from things I have heard, seen or read. Whatever it is I just find I am always asking questions about it in my head, mostly why? Why did that happen? Why did this person do that? Sometimes the how- how would it feel if...? how would this play out differently? I have written several short stories based on these questions. For a full length novel I find I have to be so deeply emotionally invested in the question that I can't stop thinking about it. In that situation writing becomes a release for me.
