Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Cyril LeMarchand I was thinking about the consternation over the eventual rise of artificial intelligence a while ago which led me to the observation that the right question wasn't being asked. I kept hearing people asking, "What will artificial intelligence do when it is fully sentient, will it destroy humanity?"

I didn't think that was the right question, in my opinion, the right question is, "What will humanity become when it is integrated with artificial intelligence?" That led directly to The Last American.
