Julia Lynn Rubin Read, read, read! Read things you love, things you hate, things that make you think and go, "Whoa. What the hell was that?" The more you read, the more you'll understand what works and what doesn't, and why. Plus, you'll get a feel for styles and flows that will make you want to sit down and write your own amazing stories.

Write for the joy of it. Write when you don't feel like it. Write often and honor every draft, good or bad or somewhere in between.
