Goodreads asked Andy Zach:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Andy Zach I usually get this when I have a scene I don't want to write. I never seem to lack ideas!

But if I don't want to write a scene, that usually means it isn't interesting. If it's not interesting to me, why should I put it in my book? So I skip the scene and move on to the next interesting point of my book.

Later, as I edit, if the scenes are disjointed, I work backward, adding details until I connect the two scenes.

Sometimes I'll get an idea that'll make the scene interesting too.
