Goodreads asked Kim Dwinell:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Kim Dwinell Some people would tell you to write through it, but I'm the opposite- I say get up and move. Part of this creating thing is understanding how you personally connect with the creativity channel. If I'm not feeling it, I'll get up and go for a run, or go walk on the beach, or drive Pacific Coast Highway. Those are three things that for me, personally, that will get that creative channel to open. Staring at a blank piece of paper can be your enemy sometimes. However, having said that, at some point I do sit back down and buckle down to work. Even if what I do that day is not good, a deadline is a deadline. So the getting up and moving isn't a free pass to not create, it's just a jump start to get the creativity flowing.
