Goodreads asked Marcus Alexander Hart:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Marcus Alexander Hart Be realistic about your expectations. You might just be a breakout success and sell a billion books and have theme parks built based on your stories and then buy yourself a castle in Scotland. You might. Hold onto that dream. It does happen.

But it probably won't. As a new novelist, you will probably struggle to pay your rent AND buy groceries. You'll likely struggle to get people to even notice you exist, let alone read your stories. And you have to be okay with that.

You have to write because you like writing, not because you want (or worse, need) to get validation or money from it. Believing that novel writing is the easy road to fame and fortune is a one-way ticket to crazy town.

I am writing this from crazy town, where I live full time. Please buy my books.
