Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Yvonne Carder Luminata was inspired by the area in Germany near my grandparents home. There are crater lakes, magical forests, and amazing castles. I've spent many summers as a kid wandering through those places and being enchanted with the beauty of the area. One day, I said what if there used to be a castle in the middle of the crater lake we used to swim and it was submerged by a curse? Then my mind started to spin the tale until I could no longer ignore it.
