Goodreads asked B.V. Bayly:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

B.V. Bayly I was bad at writing. In school, all the way up to university, I avoided writing.

Then one day I had a thought, an idea that just wouldn't leave my brain. "How would the world work if we had no energy left?" My wife pushed me to put it down on paper - at least then it would be out of my mind and perhaps I would stop thinking about it.

Thankfully, it didn't work.

My first drafts were ugly. I doubt it was legible. But it started my journey. From there I worked with other authors, getting mentored and learning the craft. I took to it quick and with a lot determination. In the end, I truly feel I got blessed. People lined up to back the project and helped to get me where I am.
