How do you get inspired to write?

Ray Stone Hard to answer. Something happens normally that sparks an idea. I play around with it for a while until a clear picture and plot start to emerge. If they don't, nothing happens until the next 'happening.' ie: I accidentally spilled coffee in my lap, shot out of my seat, fell back down on the TV remote, The TV showed the Lord Mayors procession in London on the BBC. Procession went past Hatton Garden (jewelry and gem center) Result - The Trojan Towers my first novel.
