Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lori-Suzanne Dell I am a historian. I study history. Sometimes history is so impressive that one cannot help but be inspired by a story, or a person, or an event. The history of the Texas City Disaster of April 16th, 1947 is one of those stories. I am consistently surprised at how many people had never heard of the disaster, which stands alongside the infamy of the Japanese Imperial attack on Pearl Harbor and the unthinkable sinking of the RMS Titanic. I wanted to create a way to introduce people to the disaster. A way that might appeal to those who do not like to read non-fiction. So, I wrote it into a romantic novel.
