Goodreads asked Kyle Belote:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Kyle Belote I have a muse(s), and that is my primary source when I am running dry. Just being around them helps, not necessarily talking about writing. I also change things up, the times I write, or I go read a book. Most people say: read, read, read! Exercise (walking, running, and gym) and shower thoughts always help. Switching gears and editing something new is an excellent way to break up the monotony. Go outline an entirely different book. Get really, really drunk and write random thoughts that come to mind. Shut everyone and everything out and focus: no distractions in the form of human, animal, entertainment, or social media. In short: change things up, and that's when the creative spark comes back. Or just take a break. Or if you really want success, light some candles, strip down, sacrifice a gecko, and beseech the tiny gods.
