Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Evelyn Rainey My most recent book - The Island Remains - came from the question - how do people survive through adversity and war and being occupied time and time again. I have always been fascinated with the history of WWII. The roles of women changed drastically because of that time in history - politically, religiously, physically, and economically. I thought of how women survive, and it all came together with the thought, "Invaders come and go, but the Island Remains."
