Lizzy Mason
Lizzy Mason asked Erin Hahn:

How much research did you have to do into the country music scene? Anything cool that you learned that didn't make it into the book?

Erin Hahn An obscene amount of research! I'm a life-long country music fan, but a fan does not an expert make. I spent hours watching old clips of classic artists starting with the Carter family and working my way up to the most recent country music awards. I read hundreds of interviews and even took virtual tours of different artist's busses and venues. Most everything made it into this book, or potentially future ones if they're in the cards, but I can say that most people would be surprised to learn that I actually arranged my tour dates after Luke Bryan's Kill the Lights tour a few summer's ago! I had my work cut out for me, manipulating the venues so that key elements of the story happened in cities I'd had the most personal experience visiting to make it authentic as possible.

Also, I think people would be surprised to read that I've never seen a single episode of "Nashville". That's one bit of research I skipped... :)
