S. Daisy asked Taylor Kole:

Who are some of your favorite authors/poets?

Taylor Kole I can be moved by poetry. It's not something I seek. I read Poe and Milton, more as study. Ovid influenced me deeply. I remembering reading his writing, which was written two thousand years ago, and thinking, "people act the exact same today." He reached so high and was cast so low. I still feel tremendous sympathy for him.
For authors, favorites and most influential are the same. Jack London shaped my life philosophy of wanting to live free (Call of the Wild) and be "manly" (from Sea Wolf). Dickens was the first to really blow me away with story originality, which is still my greatest desire when reading.
I've read every book by Koontz, Bear, King, Grisham, Coben, Connelly, Sheldon. I'd say, sticking in the vein of high-concept novels, Crichton is my favorite. Timeline, Prey, Congo. Each one of those expanded my concept of what is possible at different times in my life.
