Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Steve Currier The Seals have always fascinated me, ever since I saw a black-and-white photo of George Swarbrick wearing the team's 1967-68 road uniforms. That logo was awesome, like nothing I had ever seen. As I began to collect hockey cards, and started seeing more and more pictures of this strange, but fascinating team, I had to find out more. As a 12-year-old, I naively asked the NHL head office to send me information on every defunct franchise from the 1970s. Someone at the head office photocopied the Seals' entire media guide from 1975-76, containing all of the franchise's records. I was hooked! If that person had sent me a media guide of the Atlanta Flames, or the Colorado Rockies, however, I likely would have been led down a very different path. I consider it fate that the Seals and I were brought together.
