Jocelyn Sanchez asked Sherry D. Ficklin:

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers? How old were you when your first book was published? Also, where did you get your idea for Losing Logan? Hope I'm not asking too many questions! LOL

Sherry D. Ficklin I think my advice would be, just keep writing. There are a lot of things that can get in your head, rejections, critiques, negative feedback, but none of that really matters if you are enjoying yourself and loving what you do.

I was 28 when my first novel was published. But I've seen authors who publish as young as 15, and others who published the first time in their 70's. It's never too early or too late.

Losing Logan was loosely based on something that actually happened to me. I was relating the story to a friend one day and thought, what if? and Logan was born. I actually wrote it faster than I've ever written anything. 30 days, start to finish.

And there's no such thing as too many questions! :)
