Bethany
Bethany asked Lois Lowry:

What was the first idea that your remember coming to you that you eventually formed into "The Giver?" Did it percolate a while inside you or did you take off running with the idea?

Brian Tucker
Brian Tucker asked Lois Lowry:

Lois, I've loved reading your novels over the years. My personal favorite has always been "The Silent Boy." I was curious which novel was your favorite to write and the one you've felt most connected to throughout your years of writing...one you are most happy is out there? Thanks!

Emmanuel
Emmanuel asked Lois Lowry:

Hello Lois. Your novel, "The Giver" was not only my first novel with a utopian setting, but also one of my favorite novels as a child. I would like to ask; "How do you believe the society, you designed in the novel, went wrong?" Despite the morally-gray methods the civilization had, I remember understanding the noble intentions behind them. Also, do you believe in a perfect society? Thank you.
