Most often my ideas for writing come from my life experiences. I figure if it is something that I'm struggling with or marveling in or learning about, someone else is or has probably experienced the same thing. In some cases I write because I want to learn more about a topic. Then I'll research and connect with experts to get a solid background for my writing. Other times I'm inspired to write by the need to process the emotional side of an experience. Or I come out the other side of a difficulty and write the book or article that I wish I'd had while in the midst of my troubles.
