How do you get inspired to write?

Susan Frances So far, I am always inspired by my dreams. Something people may find very strange is that once I am writing every day, and my mind is in that writing mode, I often dream about certain characters and I can ask them questions in my dream. They tell me what their motivation may have been, and what they may have been thinking when they did or said certain things. I've found that if I follow my dreams very closely, the story comes out better and feels truer.
